2MC Podcast Eps 73 - Sean's On The Pod!

00:00:06:21 - 00:00:10:04
MAK
I'm MAK and I'm Courtney. Welcome back to 2MC

00:00:10:09 - 00:00:11:17
Courtney
Sit down edition.

00:00:11:24 - 00:00:15:18
MAK
Yeah. For those listeners who are sitting down, I wonder if it sounds differently.

00:00:15:24 - 00:00:18:23
MAK
Probably not. So now you know we're sitting.

00:00:18:24 - 00:00:20:17
MAK
Okay, well, let's get after it.

00:00:20:23 - 00:00:22:17
MAK
Okay, so this week we had a board meeting.

00:00:22:17 - 00:00:37:04
MAK
We did. It was a it was a long one, I feel like. But when we were going through the notes, I was like, there was a lot of stuff in there, right? So we should unpack it all. We should. Okay. You go first.

00:00:37:05 - 00:00:45:04
MAK
So there was a public hearing for an ordinance to change how the billing works for the curbside solid waste.

00:00:45:07 - 00:00:55:00
MAK
So billing via non-adherence instead of through contracted franchise. Right. So for efficiency and streamlining and all that stuff.

00:00:55:00 - 00:00:58:21
MAK
Yeah. Okay. Awesome. Sounds like fun.

00:00:58:23 - 00:01:00:05
MAK
I'm not a biller.

00:01:00:07 - 00:01:01:14
MAK
Yeah.

00:01:01:17 - 00:01:02:01
MAK
It's good.

00:01:02:02 - 00:01:05:20
MAK
I'm not. But it's good because it streamlines the process. Makes it better.

00:01:05:22 - 00:01:23:10
MAK
Yep. And then we had. That was a quasi judicial public hearing. We had a second public hearing for an agreement between or an amendment for agreement between Newfield and the county for an environmental parcel.

00:01:23:11 - 00:01:27:05
MAK
Parcel 125 acres.

00:01:27:08 - 00:01:35:11
MAK
Yeah. So we're going to for environmental purposes, we're going to use it for storage of like.

00:01:35:16 - 00:01:36:19
MAK
Excavated materials.

00:01:36:19 - 00:01:37:29
MAK
And excavated materials. Yes.

00:01:38:00 - 00:01:38:15
MAK
Nice.

00:01:38:16 - 00:01:46:00
MAK
Yes. And John Maehl and Major Bell from Army Corps of Engineers presented that to the board.

00:01:46:02 - 00:01:49:23
MAK
Oh, yes. The deputy district commander.

00:01:49:25 - 00:01:51:07
MAK
Yeah, he has.

00:01:51:07 - 00:01:52:05
MAK
A big title.

00:01:52:07 - 00:01:55:27
MAK
And he's a major, too. Yeah. It's like he's a major.

00:01:55:27 - 00:02:00:23
MAK
In District commander. Wow. Yep. We're just coordinators.

00:02:00:25 - 00:02:03:15
MAK
I know it's crazy, right?

00:02:03:17 - 00:02:06:26
MAK
Okay. So the next office and management and budget.

00:02:06:27 - 00:02:31:29
MAK
Yeah. They had I mean, they present at every board meeting, right? But they had some discussions which I thought were interesting. And it was they talked about the Hope sound bascule bridge rehab and Jim Gorton talked about the bridge scour protection. Yeah. Commissioner Capps asked about that. And then Commissioner Vargas had a question about whether they'd be doing any of that in Jensen Beach.

00:02:31:29 - 00:02:40:17
MAK
But they don't have any of those bridges in Jensen. So it's really like kind of riprap that they put underneath. Right. So the.

00:02:40:17 - 00:02:41:22
MAK
Rock, the riprap.

00:02:41:23 - 00:02:57:00
MAK
I know I love that I learned that. But it doesn't impede or have any negative effects with navigation. But it really is just protection. Yeah. It was an interesting little presentation.

00:02:57:01 - 00:03:14:21
MAK
I like that. And then Sangita, our public records. Public records. She works in public records. She does? Yes. She did a update on chapter 119, the Florida statute for public records.

00:03:14:22 - 00:03:25:28
MAK
Yes. Because all governments have to maintain public records, and you have to make them available upon request. So that was interesting. I don't know when the last time they've actually.

00:03:26:01 - 00:03:27:06
MAK
Done a presentation.

00:03:27:08 - 00:03:29:24
MAK
Yeah. Yeah, yeah. So she had well.

00:03:29:26 - 00:03:32:06
MAK
A good little follow up on how it works and.

00:03:32:14 - 00:03:44:07
MAK
How it works and the, the number of records and things I've done. She had some incredible stats. So we will drop that information down in the. Show notes. Yes. As you like to say.

00:03:44:10 - 00:03:54:17
MAK
And then Sally, wait, who's our emergency management director? She did a presentation on hurricane preparedness because we are in that time of the year. Be prepared.

00:03:54:20 - 00:04:03:18
MAK
We are we are in that time of the year. And I think they have a new road to readiness brochure. They do. I think you had something to do with that.

00:04:03:19 - 00:04:04:13
MAK
I did.

00:04:04:14 - 00:04:13:08
MAK
And anyway, there's there's tons of great information. And I think the one thing I always like to remind people actually is more than one.

00:04:13:10 - 00:04:14:16
MAK
I didn't say don't.

00:04:14:17 - 00:04:15:00
MAK
It's a lot.

00:04:15:01 - 00:04:15:22
MAK
Of stuff.

00:04:15:28 - 00:04:22:17
MAK
But people who've lived here a long time, native Floridians, sometimes people get complacent.

00:04:22:18 - 00:04:23:07
MAK
It's true.

00:04:23:07 - 00:04:36:09
MAK
And it's easy to see how that happens. But it's really important to just review your plans, go over that, make sure that you're ready so that you know if the time comes.

00:04:36:10 - 00:04:43:01
MAK
Well, and we all know when the time comes. That's when everyone else is trying to get ready to. And it's a little it's just more hectic. Yeah.

00:04:43:04 - 00:04:43:14
MAK
It just.

00:04:43:14 - 00:04:44:13
MAK
Happens to be.

00:04:44:14 - 00:04:49:24
MAK
Like, make sure that you and your family know your plan for you, for your little core group.

00:04:49:24 - 00:04:59:29
MAK
And just because the storm's not directly hitting us, as we've seen now in previous years, it can be the outskirts of the storm that get.

00:05:00:00 - 00:05:00:24
MAK
The outskirts.

00:05:00:24 - 00:05:12:11
MAK
I don't know what else to call it. Sure. I like that that can see impacts as well. So it's really just being prepared for any storm that is coming.

00:05:12:11 - 00:05:33:15
MAK
And, you know, Sally and Amy talk about this a lot. It's not just the winds. Right. So you're preparing for all the different things that could happen. And I think we really saw that last year when the hurricanes came through. But it was tornadoes that were the major impact.

00:05:33:16 - 00:05:34:17
MAK
And so two.

00:05:34:17 - 00:05:38:06
MAK
Years was two years now isn't it? I was just thinking that I misspoke.

00:05:38:07 - 00:05:41:23
MAK
Yeah. Tornadoes. Flooding. Rain.

00:05:41:25 - 00:05:46:06
MAK
There's there are a lot of different hazards. And I think you just need to be aware and prepared for all that.

00:05:46:07 - 00:05:52:11
MAK
Yes. And if you're ever interested in knowing all the different hazards and whatnot, the roads Readiness guide will have that.

00:05:52:12 - 00:05:57:22
MAK
Yep. And we have all that information on our website too. So it's just it's a great resource.

00:05:57:24 - 00:06:01:25
MAK
Yeah. And then Langford Park project.

00:06:01:26 - 00:06:32:11
MAK
This was really cool. And I didn't know about it until until I saw the agenda for the board meeting. But this was it involved so many different community partners. Right. So it was the Jensen Beach Garden Club. Those ladies are cool and they really work a lot in the community. So but they did Jensen Beach High School. They did a like a competition.

00:06:32:13 - 00:06:48:03
MAK
And so students did designs. Yeah. One design was selected and it was Tristan Zephaniah I think. And anyway, so they're building a gazebo.

00:06:48:10 - 00:06:49:18
MAK
In Langford Park.

00:06:49:20 - 00:07:14:02
MAK
Yeah. It's kind of near the log cabin. So it's really just this great opportunity for folks and then to to hang out there in the shade. And then all these different community partners are also supporting it through labor and funding and materials. And then even even like building benches that are going to go in there. So that.

00:07:14:02 - 00:07:16:25
MAK
Was awesome. Sounds like a good like community project.

00:07:16:26 - 00:07:32:07
MAK
It really is. It sort of fits the mission for parks and for the Garden Club and a lot of the nonprofits and and just even like Treasure Coast Builders Association and all professional women, all of these things, it was really a cool project.

00:07:32:08 - 00:07:48:00
MAK
And the last thing that happened in the board meeting was they kind of went over the P3 presentation and, you know, how that works and whatnot for the operations facility. So people are probably wondering if you're watching, not listening, why is there an empty chair?

00:07:48:02 - 00:07:54:06
MAK
Yeah, we're going to be joined by Sean Donahue, our director of General services. Yeah.

00:07:54:07 - 00:07:57:12
MAK
All right, let's get to it. We're here with Sean.

00:07:57:13 - 00:08:00:29
MAK
I know, hey, Sean. Hi. Thanks for. Yeah, thanks for coming today.

00:08:01:01 - 00:08:02:07
Sean Donahue
Thank you. Glad to be here.

00:08:02:09 - 00:08:03:26
MAK
Okay. So.

00:08:03:28 - 00:08:04:27
MAK
Sean Donahue.

00:08:04:27 - 00:08:05:23
MAK
Sean donahue.

00:08:05:25 - 00:08:06:14
MAK
Right.

00:08:06:15 - 00:08:10:11
MAK
You're the general services director.

00:08:10:12 - 00:08:11:18
Sean Donahue
Director? Yes.

00:08:11:23 - 00:08:12:03
MAK
A big.

00:08:12:04 - 00:08:14:06
MAK
Title, it is a big title.

00:08:14:09 - 00:08:15:29
MAK
You just finished a cool project.

00:08:16:00 - 00:08:16:17
Sean Donahue
I did.

00:08:16:18 - 00:08:18:12
MAK
You probably think all your projects are cool.

00:08:18:13 - 00:08:19:28
Sean Donahue
Of course.

00:08:20:00 - 00:08:23:10
MAK
But House of refuge was kind of a big deal.

00:08:23:11 - 00:08:25:08
Sean Donahue
It was a great project. Absolutely.

00:08:25:10 - 00:08:30:29
MAK
So. And they're celebrating their 150th anniversary. What?

00:08:31:00 - 00:08:31:11
MAK
Yeah.

00:08:31:12 - 00:08:33:05
Sean Donahue
Yes. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Hundred and 50th.

00:08:33:06 - 00:08:39:15
MAK
So they were here before Martin County was here? Yeah. Right. Because we just celebrated our centennial. Yeah.

00:08:39:18 - 00:08:43:28
Sean Donahue
Okay. And as Jeff pointed out yesterday, that building was built before building codes.

00:08:44:01 - 00:08:45:10
MAK
Oh, right.

00:08:45:13 - 00:08:50:21
MAK
Yeah. Well, it's a struggle, right, to keep that building sort of.

00:08:50:23 - 00:08:53:09
Sean Donahue
In its current location. Yes. It's a challenge.

00:08:53:10 - 00:08:55:12
MAK
Right. I could see that. I could.

00:08:55:12 - 00:09:01:22
MAK
See it's. I mean, it served its purpose, right? It's that high on a cliff, if you will, for Florida.

00:09:01:24 - 00:09:04:10
MAK
And it's the only one still around. Right.

00:09:04:11 - 00:09:04:29
Sean Donahue
Yes.

00:09:05:01 - 00:09:07:26
MAK
That's. Which is amazing. Right here in Martin County.

00:09:07:27 - 00:09:12:21
MAK
Right. So how? House of refuge. Can you just tell us, like, what was it really? Or what is it?

00:09:12:23 - 00:09:28:02
Sean Donahue
Sure. So it was a it was a refuge for shipwrecked sailors that came along the coast and hit reefs and needed a place to go after they swam ashore. So it was built specifically for that. There were several of them up and down the coast, and this was one of the last ones standing.

00:09:28:08 - 00:09:33:16
MAK
That's so cool. So your project wasn't just a typical restoration project.

00:09:33:16 - 00:09:46:14
Sean Donahue
It had to be done specifically because it's a historic structure. It's on the National Register. So it's very, very important. And the way you do that, you have to be very specific and rebuild it in the historic fashion that it was constructed in originally.

00:09:46:16 - 00:10:00:20
MAK
So yeah, you took us on on site during. It was really neat. We got to wear the hard hats, but all the scaffolding, all the work that went into it, probably before you ever started actually restoring the building.

00:10:00:22 - 00:10:11:05
Sean Donahue
Yeah. It needed some attention. It had. It had good bones. But the outside has been weathered. Probably in the worst place it could be. Yeah. To trying to keep a building healthy and upright.

00:10:11:12 - 00:10:14:18
MAK
So I'll say, though, it looks so beautiful.

00:10:14:19 - 00:10:17:21
MAK
And they're so excited to have it open again.

00:10:17:22 - 00:10:19:01
MAK
It looks so good.

00:10:19:03 - 00:10:22:07
MAK
So you work with special architects or.

00:10:22:10 - 00:10:42:21
Sean Donahue
Rig architects is a is a renowned historic architect. So so they they did the design and then the contractors that came in the tradesmen group were also specialized in historic structures across the country basically. So that's very good group of people. Great project, much needed. It's a landmark for the for the county. Landmark for the state, I think.

00:10:42:23 - 00:10:43:22
MAK
Yeah. Yeah.

00:10:43:23 - 00:10:44:28
MAK
I love that.

00:10:45:04 - 00:10:55:17
MAK
Now you're focusing on this facility for operations. The operations facility. I keep forgetting its name. I tried to call it public works, but it's more than just public works.

00:10:55:18 - 00:10:58:23
Sean Donahue
Correct. It's general services and Parks and Rec as well.

00:10:58:24 - 00:11:03:11
MAK
So that's encompass seen how many people how many workers.

00:11:03:13 - 00:11:07:02
Sean Donahue
Will be about 160 workers that report to that facility.

00:11:07:05 - 00:11:12:27
MAK
Yeah. And then all the heavy equipment and the gasoline.

00:11:12:29 - 00:11:14:21
MAK
So it has some specialized.

00:11:14:26 - 00:11:38:03
Sean Donahue
Right. The entire site is a workshop, basically. So we have lots of storage for the specialty machinery that Public Works uses. And Parks and Rec uses the vac trucks, the graders, the big machines and then the small vehicles to the light vehicles. The passenger cars are run around town and let the county do their work will also be stored there.

00:11:38:03 - 00:12:00:09
Sean Donahue
And we have a maintenance shop that takes care of both the light and heavy vehicle, and the equipment and signage and things like that, as well as all the specialty things that happen the fuel depot, the soil storage. We have to store asphalt and bases and sands and vegetation, debris and things like that. So there's a specialty area for that.

00:12:00:11 - 00:12:09:08
Sean Donahue
There's wash pits to keep the vehicles clean and be able to maintain them. So you have to have all this underground infrastructure, the oil water separators. So we're not.

00:12:09:09 - 00:12:10:29
MAK
It's more than just a building.

00:12:11:00 - 00:12:13:08
Sean Donahue
More than just a building. There's a lot going on in that.

00:12:13:12 - 00:12:32:14
MAK
And the the group like the traffic group is going out there too. Right. And so for, for people who haven't been out to our traffic facility, it's it's all it's such a technology. It's all these screens. And they're looking at every traffic signal in the county.

00:12:32:15 - 00:12:41:04
Sean Donahue
It's advanced technology that's able to massage the lights and create better traffic flows as it sees it through the camera.

00:12:41:05 - 00:12:42:07
MAK
And they're going to be out there too.

00:12:42:08 - 00:12:43:09
Sean Donahue
Correct.

00:12:43:11 - 00:12:44:09
MAK
That's so cool.

00:12:44:10 - 00:12:45:15
MAK
Yeah, it is really cool.

00:12:45:16 - 00:12:50:02
MAK
We go out to the the current facility for our CARES program. We do right now.

00:12:50:02 - 00:12:59:25
MAK
And every time we go out. Everyone's always like, oh my gosh, they need they need to be somewhere else. This is so like small for them or like.

00:12:59:28 - 00:13:12:00
MAK
Yeah. Because we visit all the different locations, you know, the traffic and then the sign shop and and it's there. Residents are really shocked at the work that they do.

00:13:12:01 - 00:13:12:12
Sean Donahue
How much.

00:13:12:12 - 00:13:13:13
MAK
They do. Yes. Correct.

00:13:13:14 - 00:13:21:15
MAK
Yeah. Because those are it's really a huge group of people who are the folks who are out in our community, out in the streets all the time.

00:13:21:19 - 00:13:31:20
Sean Donahue
Yeah. The acreage, the amount of square miles and square feet and length of pipes and lengths of ditches at public works and parks maintains is staggering.

00:13:31:21 - 00:13:32:08
MAK
It is.

00:13:32:10 - 00:13:33:05
Sean Donahue
It is amazing.

00:13:33:06 - 00:13:39:04
MAK
Yeah. And this facility is located west of. West of here.

00:13:39:06 - 00:13:50:07
Sean Donahue
Just west of 95 or highway. Perfect side road, Waterside Way. And it'll be a 30 acre site and we're looking forward to getting there.

00:13:50:08 - 00:13:56:07
MAK
It'll be a hardened facility to. Right. Like right now we're we're currently at is not correct. And so this will.

00:13:56:09 - 00:13:59:12
MAK
Have had some issues with storms before.

00:13:59:13 - 00:14:07:17
Sean Donahue
That's you. Yeah. We've lost some buildings. We've had lots of damage in the past. There's lots of photographs of how the storms wrecked a few things in the past.

00:14:07:20 - 00:14:20:16
MAK
And is going to be beneficial, because I like a lot of these employees. Staff are working during storms. They are. So this is I mean, they're working before or after during all of that. Yes.

00:14:20:17 - 00:14:35:04
MAK
So and then just think of the equipment that they're storing there like our mosquito control. They have a whole lab and all of this, you know, high tech equipment can get damaged if their roof is coming off every storm.

00:14:35:04 - 00:14:44:05
Sean Donahue
And yeah, yeah, it'll be hardened. It'll stand up to 180 mile an hour winds and staff can't stay there. And it'll be a quicker storm response to the fact.

00:14:44:05 - 00:15:03:24
MAK
So and I think our, our community is really used to a pretty quick and robust response. Yes. Because we're usually in the EOC and we're immediately getting calls about, hey, when my garbage go back out, when am I going to pick up again? So we like that fast response.

00:15:03:26 - 00:15:04:24
Sean Donahue
Yeah. Necessary.

00:15:04:25 - 00:15:06:10
MAK
Yeah. It is necessary.

00:15:06:11 - 00:15:20:22
MAK
Yeah. Okay. So in this week's meeting, you guys went over kind of the P3 process and how that works. And so you guys are going to be saving time and money. Correct. So I mean it's really fiscally responsible and.

00:15:20:25 - 00:15:39:09
Sean Donahue
Right. The biggest value of this thing is getting it done so much faster than we could ever do it in-house. The P3 company is able to do this and has written it into their contract that they can do this in 18 months with a guaranteed maximum price. It doesn't go any higher. There's no change orders. We couldn't do that in house.

00:15:39:11 - 00:15:50:14
Sean Donahue
Yeah yeah, yeah. So take twice as long, if not more. Yeah. So the time value of money, the inflation in that period of construction that we would take versus them is the huge savings. Yeah.

00:15:50:17 - 00:16:04:23
MAK
I mean almost what saving millions of that point. It has been. Yeah. Sounds like a good project that's needed and doing you know working through it the way with the P3.

00:16:04:25 - 00:16:08:09
MAK
We keep saying P3. Can you tell us what that what that means.

00:16:08:10 - 00:16:30:10
Sean Donahue
P3 stands for public private partnership. So we're the public. Yeah. The developer would be the the private partner. And what that does is it marries the two agencies or two entities together. We have a project that we need to get done. They can do it. They can do it way faster than we can with lower cost than we could based on the time value of money.

00:16:30:11 - 00:16:55:18
Sean Donahue
So that partnership is supported by Florida statutes, and it allows public agencies like ours to get things done a lot faster than we could ever do it in house. So it projects, it's a fully vetted process that's used all over the state. Every county has done a P3 at this point. A lot of schools have used it. These guys are specialties, specialty contractors that do this for a living.

00:16:55:18 - 00:16:57:22
MAK
So it sounds new to us.

00:16:57:24 - 00:16:58:11
Sean Donahue
Correct.

00:16:58:13 - 00:16:59:27
MAK
But it's been around.

00:16:59:27 - 00:17:08:29
MAK
It's been around and it's I will say I think it was just amended recently so that government agencies would be able to use it. Right. You know, easier.

00:17:09:01 - 00:17:10:05
MAK
Easier, more efficiently.

00:17:10:06 - 00:17:13:28
MAK
More efficiently because of how beneficial it is.

00:17:14:01 - 00:17:31:04
Sean Donahue
Exactly. Yeah, exactly. So, so it's a it's a beautiful process. It's been used by everybody across the state. And, and I think it'll do good for this project. It'll save the taxpayers a lot of money. And we can get out of this older facility that we need to get out of on the airport property and get into a much better facility that we can support the county.

00:17:31:09 - 00:17:36:00
MAK
Can you tell us a timeline for the project? I know we've been talking about it, so it's built up, but.

00:17:36:01 - 00:17:46:19
Sean Donahue
Sure. Yeah. So it's an 18 month construction period. Design and construction period. So it started mid this year. Mid 26. So it'll be it'll be the end of 27 when it's finished.

00:17:46:20 - 00:17:47:15
MAK
That's exciting.

00:17:47:17 - 00:17:49:24
MAK
Is exciting. We'll have to go out there and tour it.

00:17:49:25 - 00:17:51:17
MAK
Yes I'm looking forward to a tour.

00:17:51:19 - 00:17:52:08
MAK
Yes.

00:17:52:11 - 00:17:55:01
MAK
Wait. I think the chickens are going to be there too. Right.

00:17:55:07 - 00:17:56:03
Sean Donahue
There will be.

00:17:56:04 - 00:17:56:21
MAK
Yes.

00:17:56:24 - 00:17:58:04
MAK
Chickens? Nel. Chickens?

00:17:58:06 - 00:18:01:03
MAK
Yes. The seasonal employees. Yes.

00:18:01:10 - 00:18:17:28
MAK
Our seasonal. I don't know what made me think of them, but it's like everybody's getting the specialized space. And for people who haven't been out to our mosquito control, our staff actually built their little hutch, their chicken coop. Yeah. Yeah.

00:18:17:29 - 00:18:20:01
Sean Donahue
So there'll be a new chicken coop for the chicken.

00:18:20:02 - 00:18:21:20
MAK
Nice. Nice. They'll like that.

00:18:21:22 - 00:18:23:08
MAK
Yeah. I like those chicken ladies.

00:18:23:16 - 00:18:24:12
MAK
Yes.

00:18:24:14 - 00:18:26:14
MAK
So fancy.

00:18:26:17 - 00:18:30:11
MAK
All right, well, thank you so much for joining us. We appreciate it. And.

00:18:30:12 - 00:18:32:03
MAK
Yeah, thanks for stopping by. Yeah.

00:18:32:05 - 00:18:33:10
Sean Donahue
Anytime.

00:18:33:13 - 00:18:36:10
MAK
That was such. Sean always has so much information.

00:18:36:13 - 00:18:38:01
MAK
I love the projects that he.

00:18:38:01 - 00:18:38:26
MAK
Works on.

00:18:38:28 - 00:18:40:26
MAK
Like the. House refuge. Jinx.

00:18:40:27 - 00:18:42:11
MAK
I know. Well.

00:18:42:17 - 00:18:43:15
MAK
Go ahead.

00:18:43:17 - 00:18:53:21
MAK
I was just going to say it's such a an amazing project to be able to be a part of and to watch because of just the history behind the House of refuge.

00:18:53:22 - 00:18:55:29
MAK
I know it's 150 years old.

00:18:56:00 - 00:18:56:15
MAK
I know.

00:18:56:21 - 00:18:57:28
MAK
It's older than me.

00:18:58:00 - 00:19:02:20
MAK
Way older than me. Yeah, and I just had a birthday.

00:19:02:23 - 00:19:09:15
MAK
We should say happy birthday to Courtney. Happy birthday to you.

00:19:09:18 - 00:19:10:08
MAK
Thanks.

00:19:10:09 - 00:19:12:29
Speaker 5
You're welcome.

00:19:13:01 - 00:19:24:21
MAK
So, a couple of other things we just wanted to touch on. Yes. Ship funding is available. Ship? Yes. State housing initiative. Partnership.

00:19:24:23 - 00:19:26:04
MAK
How do you do that?

00:19:26:07 - 00:19:27:24
MAK
Well, I'm just good like that.

00:19:27:26 - 00:19:37:18
MAK
So anyway. But that funding is available, right? That's through our human services department. And it's for owner occupied rehabs up to $75,000.

00:19:37:21 - 00:19:39:07
MAK
For emergency repairs.

00:19:39:09 - 00:19:40:14
MAK
I love that they have.

00:19:40:16 - 00:19:41:10
MAK
That.

00:19:41:12 - 00:19:46:19
MAK
That part of it too. And even water and sewer hookup, which I believe is also up to $20,000.

00:19:46:19 - 00:19:57:04
MAK
So and it. So you do an application and they look and see if you have any all the eligibility requirements. And we'll put that down in the show notes.

00:19:57:06 - 00:20:05:02
MAK
I have how people can contact Human Services to do that. And you had a cool thing, an art art thing you want to talk about. Right.

00:20:05:03 - 00:20:12:05
MAK
Yes. So during the second annual paint out that happened at the House of refuge. Yes. They, you know, painted.

00:20:12:06 - 00:20:19:12
MAK
They sit out there and they capture these moments in time, in the fresh air. They're painting. And so what's happening with those?

00:20:19:12 - 00:20:26:17
MAK
So that collection, yes, is going to be at the Elliot Museum until July 28th.

00:20:26:18 - 00:20:27:03
MAK
Okay.

00:20:27:05 - 00:20:31:17
MAK
So you have time. It's through the whole month. So make sure you get out there and see it.

00:20:31:18 - 00:20:32:08
MAK
Nice.

00:20:32:09 - 00:20:37:03
MAK
Yeah. And then another fun social thing.

00:20:37:06 - 00:20:38:20
MAK
Hitting bays.

00:20:38:22 - 00:20:42:25
MAK
Yeah. A social league.

00:20:42:27 - 00:20:43:27
MAK
We should do that.

00:20:43:28 - 00:20:45:15
MAK
Thursday nights.

00:20:45:17 - 00:20:47:27
MAK

00:20:47:29 - 00:20:58:05
MAK
Just everyone comes together. Brain golfers, all skill levels. Food, fun, friendly competition. You can bring a team. Sign up individual.

00:20:58:06 - 00:20:59:05
MAK

00:20:59:06 - 00:21:00:14
MAK

00:21:00:16 - 00:21:03:07

00:21:10:21 - 00:21:12:13
MAK

00:21:12:15 - 00:21:13:25
MAK
Yeah. The hitting base.

00:21:13:26 - 00:21:40:23
MAK
Hitting base? Yeah. You know what else? What else? Are you finished with? The base. I'm all done. Okay. The. There's a Treasure Coast locals program through Discover Martin. Actually, it's through all of the Treasure Coast. So it's discover Martin and Saint Lucie and Indian River. And there are all of these discounts. Yeah. Yeah. Because people are here in the summer.

00:21:40:23 - 00:21:46:24
MAK

00:21:46:25 - 00:21:47:15
